PALMDALE – Palmdale’s 20th annual Fall Festival opens today in a new location and with more entertainment. Headlining will be Southern rock band .38 Special at 5:30 p.m. today, followed by a stage show called “Illumination” at 7:15 p.m. and a new fireworks show at 7:45 p.m. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the newly enlarged Marie Kerr Park, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd. Singers, bands, dancers and other entertainers will perform on 11 stages. Other returning features include the High Desert Medical Group Health Expo, with free flu shots to visitors age 62 or older and people with chronic health problems; a farmers market; and arts and crafts. Admission is $7 for adults, and $3 for seniors 55 and over, children ages 6 to 12 and military with ID. Children will receive four free ride tickets with gate admission. Children age 5 and under will be admitted free. A two-day adult pass is available for $12. Parking is free.
