Two former walk-ons are doing quite well for their respective teams. Zach McRoberts of IU transferred to IU as a walk-on. He played his high school ball at Carmel and was an Indiana All-Star. He originally went to Vermont University. The junior has become an integral part of IU’s resurgence in recent weeks.Another walk-on is doing quite well at North Carolina. He is Luke Maye. He was forced to walk-on at North Carolina because there were no scholarships available when he graduated from high school. He had other scholarships offers, but he preferred North Carolina so he walked-on there. He is now the Tar Heels leading scorer. Some players either by mistakes on their part or on the universities part turn out to be valuable assets at the university level. Some of this information came from the Indianapolis Star.
