Aurora Lumber was founded 150 years ago and has been owned by the Petty family for the last 50 years. Contractors, remodelers and home owners have come to expect quality, integrity and knowledgeable customer service.Curtis Gillman of Gillman Home Center said, “The company plans to build on the valued aspects of Aurora that contributed to its success, including retaining its experienced staff, while enhancing it with Gillman’s innovative merchandise mix and competitive pricing thanks to its increased buying power.”“We believe this is the best decision for the future of our business and its role in the Aurora community,” explained John Petty of Aurora Lumber. “It ensures Aurora Lumber will remain an important resource. Just as importantly, our employees can continue to provide outstanding service and support to our customers. We look forward to this new chapter in our company’s story with Gillman Home Center.”Located in Batesville, Indiana, Gillman Home Center is a full-service hardware and lumber dealer with nine locations in Batesville, Brookville, Centerville, Connersville, Edinburgh, New Castle and Winchester, as well as Eaton and Oxford in Ohio.
