Dorfler House, located in Meia Praia, Lagos – In a condominium of traditional buildings from the 90s, the approach breaks with a bold and elegant architecture with a curvilinear movement turning into two telescopes facing the sea highlighting all its splendor in the city landscape.Save this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SGSave this picture!Plan – 1st floorSave this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SGThe proposal integrates in the urban environment in order to have a balance between the existing buildings and all the experience that the architecture of the house allows, privileging to the maximum the sea views along the cove of Praia da Meia Praia. With an upward and fluid movement it allows a symbiotic relationship between volumes creating a fortification of privacy between indoor and outdoor areas. This housing fits into the respect for location, land morphology and urban surroundings, taking full advantage of all the characteristics standing out for its shape and implantation in the land which were naturally explored through an architectural piece where through with two lenses it pays tribute to the sea views raising it to its maximum splendor.Save this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SGSave this picture!South elevationSave this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SGThe fluidity between the social zone of the private zone always privilege the views opting for a classic inversion of the program determining the entire social zone on the upper floor and the entire private zone on the lower floor. This program inversion allows a more intimate coexistence in the way they can enjoy all its characteristics, with no opposition to the relationships between indoor and outdoor areas.Save this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SGThe most intimate and private area takes place on the Ground Floor where the entrance area, bedrooms and their bathrooms are located. Mikel Arteta reveals the moment he knew Reiss Nelson would be an Arsenal star

first_imgMikel Arteta has been impressed by Reiss Nelson since his days in Arsenal’s youth teams (Pictures: Getty)Mikel Arteta revealed he first identified Reiss Nelson’s potential during his formative days in Arsenal’s youth team.Plenty has been expected of Nelson, 20, for some time but the winger has only just started enjoying a run in the Gunners’ first team. His introduction back into the side came after Arteta’s appointment last month, with the Spaniard claiming everything came ‘too easy’ to Nelson during his early years at the club.Having been loaned out to Hoffenheim last season and starting just five games this year before Arteta replaced Unai Emery in December, Nelson has since started three of the last five matches.AdvertisementAdvertisementADVERTISEMENTFormer Manchester City assistant Arteta was praised for his one-on-one coaching work with wingers Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane at the Etihad Stadium and, while he refused to draw comparisons between the pair and Nelson, he admits he has been pleasantly surprised by the England Under-21 international. He is a boy that is willing to learn and loves the game but I think he has been a little bit confused in the last few years – what direction he had to take, some of the decisions that he made.More: Arsenal FCArsenal flop Denis Suarez delivers verdict on Thomas Partey and Lucas Torreira movesThomas Partey debut? NBA Draft: Lakers yet to get Karl Anthony-Towns in for a workout

first_img Newsroom GuidelinesNews TipsContact UsReport an Error Kupchak plans to travel to Las Vegas this weekend to watch Kristaps Porzingis, a power forward from Sevilla. After hosting individual workouts this week for Emmanuel Mudiay (Saturday), D’Angelo Russell (Monday) and Jahlil Okafor (Tuesday), the Lakers currently have no other workouts planned for prospects they would consider at No. 2.The Lakers will have workouts on Friday and next Monday for players they will consider with their 27th and 34th picks. The Lakers also hosted an individual workout on Tuesday for Murray State sophomore guard Cameron Payne, who’s projected as a mid first-round pick. Filling the calendarMudiay has finalized his itinerary next week that will include workouts both with the Philadelphia 76ers (June 16) and Minnesota Timberwolves (June 19-20), according to a league source familiar with his schedule.Mudiay has already had an extensive travel schedule in the past week. After working out with the Lakers last Saturday, Mudiay traveled to New York to work out with the Knicks on Tuesday. Mudiay will then return to Los Angeles for a private individual workout on Thursday. Breaking breadThe Lakers have followed a pre-draft workout tradition that goes beyond skills tests. The Lakers’ basketball operations staff hosted dinner for Mudiay, Russell and Okafor the night before their workouts. Those prospects then dined out with the Lakers’ coaching staff the next day. Okafor’s dinner involved an interesting twist. Kupchak, a North Carolina alum, teased Okafor, a Duke alum. The ribbing mostly entailed Kupchak sharing how the Tarheels beat the Blue Devils in overtime his sophomore season in 1974 by overcoming an eight-point deficit with 17 seconds left in regulation. “Of course he thought that Duke won. I said, ‘No, Duke did not win,’” Kupchak said, drawing laughter. “He said, ‘You scored eight points in (17) seconds? I said, ‘Yes we did. We won in overtime and there was no 3-point shot.’”So will Kupchak hold it against Okafor that he went to Duke?Said Kupchak: “It’s not a plus.”center_img The championship trophies and retired jerseys that adorn the Lakers’ practice facilities provide more than just fancy decorations. They usually explain why any player would wear a purple and gold uniform in a heartbeat. Yet, that has not proven enough to convince Kentucky center Karl Anthony-Towns to work out with the Lakers before the NBA Draft on June 25. “We’d like to get him in, schedule and get him into the facility for a workout,” Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said on Tuesday at the team’s practice facility in El Segundo. “To date, we have been unsuccessful in doing that. But we have another 2, 2 1/2 weeks. I’m sure we can get it done.”The Lakers also have struck out in free agency, failing to retain Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol in consecutive seasons and missing out last summer on LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Yet, it appears Anthony-Towns’ absence from any Lakers’ workouts has little to do with the team finishing last season with its worst record in franchise history. Instead, Anthony-Towns may not want to work out for any team except for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They have the No. 1 pick, a place most NBA mock drafts project Anthony-Towns to land just before the Lakers are on the clock with their No. 2 selection. Such an approach could ensure Anthony-Towns remains the No. 1 pick. last_img read more
