KL Rahul named in India A squad for 1st four-day match vs England Lions

first_imgIndia opener KL Rahul has been named in the 15-member squad of India A for the first of the two four-day games against England Lions. The match will be played from February 7 in Wayanad.Rahul’s suspension over the Koffee With Karan controversy was lifted pending the appointment of an ombudsman earlier this month. Rahul was sent home from Australia along with Hardik Pandya as the duo missed the three-match ODI series in Australia.While Hardik Pandya rejoined the India squad in the ongoing ODI series in New Zealand, KL Rahul has been playing the unofficial one-dayers for India A against England Lions in Thiruvananthapuram. Rahul had made 13 and 43 in his two appearances for the Rahul Dravid-coached side earlier this week.The India A squad for the four-day match will be led by Maharashtra batsman, Ankit Bawne, who is also leading the one-day side. India A will take on the England Lions in the final one-dayer on Thursday. India A have so far won four matches and will be hoping for a whitewash in the last match.”The All-India Senior Selection Committee picked the India A team for the first four-day game to be played against England Lions from 7th February in Wayanad,” a BCCI release said.Shardul Thakur, who picked up four wickets to set up India’s six-wicket win in the fourth one-dayer on Tuesday, is also part of the squad.
