TRAP PICKED THE WRONG TEAM – SEAMUS GIVEN

first_imgShay Given’s father has said he thinks the Irish management team picked the wrong team for last night’s disastrous game against Croatia.Seamus Given was speaking after Ireland’s 3-1 defeat in their first Euro 2012 game which leaves them with a mountain to climb.Seamus said he would not have started with the same team that Trapatonni picked. “The team was not right for the occasion. It’s horses for courses. There should have been a couple on from the start and a couple left out.“The eleven players that were put out, and this is no disrespect to Doyle or Keane, were simply not physically strong enough.“We needed a couple of strong players up front. The Croatians are a big side and there were 7 of 8 of them which were head and shoulders above most of our guys,” he said. The Lifford man said despite the heavy defeat, the fans and the team are already beginning to lift their spirits again. “I think the feeling here is that we have nothing to lose.“We can go out and win the remaining two games and the spectators are already beginning to lift their spirits again“You could tell by the expression on the faces of the team that they were so disappointed but they know that they just have to buckle down and try and go out and do the best they can and hopefully get a win,” he said. TRAP PICKED THE WRONG TEAM – SEAMUS GIVEN was last modified: June 11th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Seamus GivenShay Givenlast_img read more
