Both for-profit and nonprofit groups and people may apply.A county permit authorizes sales in unincorporated Clark County, where the population totals 207,000, Dunaway said. Population determines the number of permits, and once the population hits 210,000, the county will increase the number of permits to 42.Fireworks may be sold in unincorporated Clark County from noon on June 28 to 11 p.m. July 4 of each year. Popular sites for fireworks sales include Highway 99 in Hazel Dell and Northeast 117th Avenue from Sifton to Brush Prairie.Cities issue their own permits.Applications for the permit lottery are due by 5 p.m. Jan. 31; “postmarked by” doesn’t count.Dunaway said more permits may become available if current holders decide to give them up. He said he’ll know in early February whether any more permits are available.Stephanie Rice: 360-735-4508 or [email protected]last_img read more
