Hamptons staff help raise £1.2 million for Cancer Research

first_imgStaff at Hamptons have helped raised £1.2 million for Cancer Research so far as the charity continues its bid to reach £5 million.The firm’s employees raised £5,000 towards during a ‘Relay around the World’ initiative which saw them collectively walk, run, scoot, swim or cycle 27,000 miles, which is greater than the earth’s circumference of 24,901.The initiative is part of Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer Campaign.“It has been an amazing team effort and has given us a fantastic opportunity to come together with one shared goal: to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK,” says Lesley Cairns, MD at Hamptons (pictured, above).“I can’t begin to share how heart-warming it has been to be a part of such an uplifting event through what has been a really difficult time.“We’ve seen families out together walking, jogging and cycling all with the aim of attributing miles to our overall target.“Above all, the ‘Relay around the World’ has given us an amazing opportunity to unify the business during a time where we have all been kept apart from each other.“Cancer Research UK is a charity that sits close to our hearts and we will continue to dedicate our time and support and look forward to further fundraisers in the future.”Thomas Dawson (pictured) of Cancer Research UK says: Congratulations and our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Hamptons who has taken part in your epic collective journey.”Anyone wishing to support the Stand Up to Cancer campaign can do so on the charity’s fundraising page.Last year many staff had their heads shaved during a similar fundraising event.hamptonbs Thomas Dawson Cancer Research Lesley Cairns 2021-03-30Nigel LewisAny comments?
